One cookie, and it holds one word.
This page is the whole of it. If something here is unclear, the address at the bottom reaches a person rather than a form.
The cookie
ethixCube sets a single cookie, named ethixcube_consent. It holds the word yes or the word no, which is your answer to the banner, and nothing else. No identifier, no session, no record of where you have been. It lasts twelve months, after which you are asked again.
There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind. Nothing on this site is loaded from an advertising network, a social platform or a tracking service.
If you say yes
A run you finish on your own is kept: the cases you were dealt, which way you voted before and after the twist, which cube you took each time, the policy conditions you ticked, and anything you wrote in the box on the policy screen. It is stored on a database run by the project, and it is used to study how people reason about these cases.
The box on the policy screen is the one place you write in your own words rather than choosing from ours, which is why it is worth keeping and why it is worth saying plainly that it is kept. Write about what happened. There is no reason to put a name in it, yours or anybody else's.
The run is not connected to you. There is no account, no email address, no name and no identifier of any kind on it, and nothing links two runs from the same person. Nobody, including us, can look at a stored run and say whose it was.
What is never kept, whatever you answer
Your name, your email address, your IP address, your browser, your device, how long you took, or where you came from. None of it is collected and none of it is stored.
Sessions run with a group. A room exists while it is open and is gone the moment it ends, whatever you answered here.
If you say no
Nothing is sent. Not a shortened version, not a count, not a note that somebody declined. The run stays in your browser and closing the tab ends it, which is exactly how this site worked before any of this existed.
The site is not degraded in any way and nothing is withheld. You get the same cases, the same profile and the same receipt.
Changing your mind
Use the buttons below. Choosing again replaces your previous answer, and runs you finish after that follow the new one.
Runs already kept cannot be withdrawn, and that is a consequence of the anonymity rather than a policy: with nothing on a run that identifies you, there is no way to find yours among the others.
This is a research prototype in development ahead of September 2026. If you have a question about how the project handles data, or you want something looked at, email the project lead and it will reach a person. l.vonschomberg@greenwich.ac.uk

One case or four, about five minutes each, and a name at the end. No account needed.
